Delonte Hicks, 29, of Washington DC, was shot while he and another driver were traveling on Route 50 (John Hanson Highway) just before 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, police said.

Authorities believe the two men were arguing when the suspect pulled out a weapon and shot at Hicks' vehicle. Their relationship is unknown, according to police.

Hicks later died after being taken to a local hospital while the gunman continued eastbound on Route 50, police said. No other injuries were reported.

So far the suspect's identity is unknown but State Police said they appear to be driving a Hyundai Sonata. Police have since released photos of the suspected driver and vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Maryland State Police Homicide investigators at 443-684-1216 or 410-977-9384.
